Description                            :

School Gyrls is an American girl group which consists of Mandy, Monica and Jacque. There are many titles of the book, in this title (Copy Cat) is especially told about one of them, Jacque Nimble. She school at Summer Grove Academy with her best friends, Monica Marriot and Mandy Rain. They always do anything together. They are so close each other.
Mandy was a bigger style icon than Madonna. She always wore pink combat boots, pink suspenders and fingerless gloves. She liked to crack the jokes like a clown and roller-skating around campus, but she was also very clever and her grade was good. Mo or Monica was the most fashionable of the three. She loved designing clothes, helping to pick out outfits, or pinning fancy barrettes in her thick black hair. She was a super talented girl. Jacque, the ordinary girl who loves sing especially rap. They were sitting in the history class with Mr. Porter as the teacher. At that day, he gave the history test result. Mandy got A, Mo got A-, and Jacque, just F, it was so bad. That was the second F she’d gotten this semester. Jacque was so inferior and sad. She wasn’t like her best friends. They were brilliant and never had problems in studying, they also always did the test well.
The headmaster Jones – a tall woman with Afro, always wore a crisp blue suit that was stiff with starch-, told that would be held the test to know that the students were placed in the correct classes and school programs. Jacque was in serious trouble, if her score was low again at this test, her scholarship would be in jeopardy. She was so confused. She almost gave up. She didn’t tell her problem to her best friends; just say “it’s no big deal”. She tried hardly to pass the test.
Bambi Lockwood, the head cheer girl and freshman class president, and her friend Clair bet her, if she is fail at the test she will be Bambi’s servant for a day and so conversely. She felt worse. But she was not alone, there were Mo and Mandy helped her. Yes, her best friends who always care about her. They helped Jacque to study the subject and they were sure that Jacque would pass and even ace it. They did it, during the time to the day of test. They – Mo, Mandy and Justin their friend from Loyola boys – helped Jacque to remember the “Fall of Rome” history and the other subjects.
Everything’s alright until Kayla, Jacque’s soulmate from home came to summer Grove. She spent the time with Kayla and forgot about the test. Before left, Kayla gave Jack the copy of STATEWIDE CURRICULUM TEST. Headmaster Jones found it in the dustbin at Kayla’s room. Jacque was in a serious problem (again). She and Mo and Mandy were called by headmaster when the students faced the test. She couldn’t believe it. Actually, she could fill and answer the test easily by her own thought. She didn’t use the copy. Mo and Mandy told that the copy wasn’t theirs but they were shock when Jacque confessed. They were very disappointed in Jacque. Jacque wanted to explain that the copy was hers, but she didn’t use it, she didn’t look at it, really. She answered the test by herself. She studied for the test. But she couldn’t speak; she was frozen and couldn’t talk. She cried for her destiny. She would like to be expelled from that school.
Jacque was detained. Mandy and Mo visited her and made the consideration wit her. They were very angry. But Jacque could convince them that she didn’t cheat. Then she convinced the headmaster. She could prove that she had studied before the test. She got it; the headmaster gave her the retest. Jacque was so glad. She had a hope to stay at Summer Grove.
This morning everyone had gotten their test result back. Bambi had passed with 88 percent. Jacque, she’d gotten a 92 percent. That was unbelievable. Jacque gave the paper to Mandy and Mo. They were happy to know that. She got the bet. But the most important, she passed the test well by her efforts. And she didn’t repeat the semester. She never felt better, walking with her friends, her bandmates, her personal emergency tutors and impromptu backup singers. She promised that she won’t ever again cheat.
This novel told us about the friendship, and the miracles behind the efforts. The writer wanted to tell us that nothing is impossible if we have a great spirit to do. And no one is stupid. No one who smarter or stupider. But there’s one who lazier and more diligent. It is about our effort and our faith. We can do it greatly if we have the faith.
